Grilled Bananas recipe

an appealing fruit After you’ve grilled your food and eaten, what do you do for dessert? Are you tired of eating toasted (or flaming) marshmallows? Then try this recipe:

˝ cup light brown sugar
˝ cup granulated sugar
2 tsp cinnamon
2 tsp ground nutmeg
6 firm bananas
6 tablespoons butter
vanilla ice cream

  • mix sugar & spices
  • with a sharp knife, slit open the banana peel along the inside curved section and push peel open slightly
  • spread 2 to 3 tbsp of sugar mixture over each banana, pressing it under the peel
  • mince 1 tbsp butter and press into sugar mixture
  • place bananas—open side up—on foil over hot coals
  • cover, cook 10 minutes
  • serve bananas hot with ice cream
  • crumble sugar drippings from foil over top
  • then try to leave some for the others to taste
